At the Grill House, you can choose dishes from a wide selection of Chinese, Indian, Thai and Continental cuisines. The Thai tenderloin was good: lioghtly cooked beef with onions, soy sauce and rice. The cooking of this dish requires a strong stomach - the quantity of spices employed by the chef is more tropical than continental in style. Grill House also undertakes lunchtime deliveries.

Located just inside Muscat City Centre, The Noodle House is a prime example of fast food as a fine art form. No menu, just a page from the order pad. Dishes, useful and descriptive symbols, reasonable prices and tick boxes are laid out in a painfully simple format.
The Noodle House draws mostly from Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Singapore, China and Indonesia.
The staff are polite and helpful, the meat is fresh and bursting with flavour and your meal is delivered in wide, deep and scrupulously clean white crockery. This is fast food in its original definition, in that it arrives at your table within minutes of handing in your order pad.
Particularly delectable is the prawn-fried rice with chicken satay, which is very filling and remarkably addictive. It has a strong and distinctive flavour and is served with a mango and onion pickle, which adds a cool, fruity dimension.
Especially popular is the fried ice cream, which is delightful to eat. With sweet ice cream encased in a sweeter shell, it makes for a dish of absolute contradictions: soft but crunchy, hot but cold, exceptional but cheap.
